The A-60 Motorway from Valladolid to León connects both Spanish cities and runs parallel to the existing N-601 road.

The Santas Martas – Leon section is 27 km long.

TORROJA INGENIERÍA designed the following structures of this section of the A-60 Motorway:

4 viaducts

14 overpasses (almost all of them were prestressed concrete slabs)

2 additional road overpasses

11 underpasses

3 road underpasses

3 bridges crossing water channels

17 intersection structures, including 3 composite steel – concrete bridges

Due to their dimensions the bridges crossing the River Esla and the River Porma are the most important structures in the designed section of the motorway. Their lengths are 750 m and 450 m respectively. The deck is a prestressed concrete box girder, built using movable scaffolding. The spans are 52,5 m long.
