The Porcia Bridge is located on the Navia-Tapia de Casariego section of the A-8 Motorway. The bridge crosses over the valley of the River Porcia, a historical irrigation waterway.

The horizontal alignment is straight and the vertical alignment is a curved (Kv=10000). The cross slope is 2%.

The total length of the bridge is 236,0 m divided into 4 spans 48,0+60,0+80,0+48,0 m long. The historical waterway is located under span nº 1 and the main water flow of the River Porcia is under the main span nº 3 close to pier P2. The main span of 80,0 m was needed to position the piers out of the flood zone of the river.

The deck is a composite structure made of a concrete slab on top of a steel box section. The total depth of the deck is 4,35 m (4,085 m is the depth of the steel box and 0,265 is the thickness of the concrete cast on-site slab). The width of the platform is 26,0 m. There is only one deck for both carriageways.

The steel box is 8,5 m wide. Every 4,0 m two lateral 8,75 m long strut and tie systems are connected to the webs of the steel box to make up the total width of 26,0 m. A transverse stiffener every 4,0 m was installed.

The steel box was launched from the access point near abutment nº 1 using a launching nose 28 m long.
