This overpass carries the A-7 platform over an urban road between Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. The viaduct is a prestressed concrete voided slab, with three spans of 25,0+36,0+25,0 m long. The viaduct is made of two twin decks, one for each direction. The section is “gondola” shaped with a maximum depth of 1,40 m. The depth decreases slightly to the outer sides of the section, where the minimum depth is 0,20 m. The deck width is 16,0 m. There are seven voids Ø1,05 m in the central part of the section, and two more voids, Ø0,50 m in the lateral sections.
The piers are “V” shaped, and made of reinforced concrete. This shape is generated as a circular hyperboloid emptied by another hyperboloid. Their edges are truncated making four branches. This creates four inclined struts that are fixed to the deck.
Deep foundations are used at the piers, with four Ø1,50 m concrete piles, 30 m long. The pile cap is a square 8 m long and 2,25 m deep slab.
The abutments are actually two piers, made of reinforced concrete, with a rectangular cross section, 8,50 m wide and 1,0 m thick. Their foundations are three Ø1,20 m concrete piles, 27,0-36,0 m long. The pile cap is 9,50 m long, 2,40 m wide, and 1,80 m deep.
