The Cinca Viaduct is located on the A-22 highway, near Monzón (Huesca). The viaduct is made of two twin girders, separated by 9 meters. Each structure is 295,0 m long divided into five spans; the spans are 40,0+50,0+70,0+90,0+45,0 m long. The platform of each deck carries two 3,5 m wide lanes, an outer hard shoulder 2,5 m wide and an inner hard shoulder 1,0 m wide. The section is completed with 0,52 m at each side for barrier installation. The horizontal alignment of the structure is straight and the longitudinal vertical slope is 2,80%.

The depth of the deck varies in spans 3, 4 and 5, from 2,25 m to 4,50 m at the connection of the deck with piers P3 and P4. These spans were built as a balanced cantilever using form travellers. The depth of the deck is constant at 2,25 m for spans 1 and 2; these spans were built using movable scaffolding.

The cross section of the deck is a prestressed concrete box section. The webs are vertical and 0,40 m thick. The width of the bottom slab of the box section is 5,8 m and the top slab is 11,54 m wide, with two lateral cantilevers 3,07 m long. The thickness of the transverse cantilevers of the top slab varies from 0,18 to 0,52 m

There are two final segments, 2,60 m long in this structure. The first one is at span 3 to connect the part of the deck built as a balanced cantilever to the part built with the falsework device. The second segment is located over the river in order to close the main span and join both cantilevers from P3 and P4.

The deck is fixed to pier P3 and is simply supported with sliding bearings on the remaining piers. At pier P4 provisional devices were used to fix the deck to the pier during the balanced cantilever construction. When the deck reached E2 these provisional devices were removed.

The piers are made of reinforced concrete with hollow section. Piers P1 and P2 are rectangular and piers P3 and P4 have a trapezoidal shape and are river cutwater. Shallow foundations are used for the abutments and P1, deep foundations are used for P2, P3 and P4.
